How to apply
In-person / offline
- Register the pregnancy at the nearest Anganwadi Centre/PHC as early as possible; obtain the MCP/JSY card
- ASHA worker facilitates ANC check-ups and prepares the woman for institutional delivery
- Deliver at the government or accredited private facility
- Facility staff verify JSY eligibility and process the cash assistance
- Amount is credited via DBT to the bank account, or disbursed at the facility before discharge in some states

FAQs
Is JSY available for a home delivery?
A smaller assistance amount is available for home deliveries only for BPL women who choose to deliver at home despite counselling, and it is far lower than the institutional-delivery amount.
Do I need to be BPL to get JSY?
Only in 'High Performing States' (states with historically better institutional-delivery rates); in Low Performing States, all pregnant women delivering institutionally are eligible regardless of income.
Can I get JSY and PMMVY together?
Yes — JSY (institutional delivery incentive) and PMMVY (maternity wage-loss compensation) are separate schemes and a woman can be eligible for both.
