Who’s eligible

Girl students who studied Classes 6-12 in a Tamil Nadu Government school and are pursuing regular UG degree/diploma/ITI courses.

  • Transfer certificate/study certificate from government school (Classes 6-12)
  • College admission/enrolment proof
  • Aadhaar card
  • Bank account passbook (student's own account)
  • Passport-size photograph

How to apply

Online

  1. Visit the Pudhumai Penn portal (linked from tnsocialwelfare.tn.gov.in, applied via penkalvi.tn.gov.in)
  2. Register using college/institution details
  3. Fill personal, academic history (Classes 6-12 school details) and bank account information
  4. Upload transfer certificate and enrolment proof
  5. College verifies and forwards the application to the Social Welfare & Women Empowerment Department
  6. Monthly DBT begins after approval, continuing through the degree/diploma/ITI course
