Who’s eligible

How to apply

Online

  1. Visit pmaymis.gov.in (Urban) or pmayg.nic.in (Gramin) as applicable
  2. Check your name in the beneficiary list (for PMAY-G, based on the SECC/Awaas+ survey) or apply under the applicable PMAY-Urban component
  3. Submit/verify Aadhaar, income and bank details online
  4. Track application/sanction status via the portal

In-person / offline

  1. For PMAY-Gramin, approach your Gram Panchayat or Block Development Office to check/update your name in the Awaas+ survey list
  2. For PMAY-Urban, approach your Urban Local Body (Municipal Corporation/Council) office for application under the applicable vertical (BLC/AHP/ISSR/CLSS)

Does the house have to be only in the woman's name?

Guidelines require the house be registered in the name of the female head of the household, or jointly with the male head, to promote women's asset ownership — exact wording depends on the PMAY component/state adaptation.

Is PMAY the same in rural and urban areas?
