FAQs

Can I apply if I delivered in a private hospital?

Yes — PMMVY benefits are available for private-hospital deliveries too, as long as you complete the ANC and immunisation conditions for each instalment.

What happens if I have a miscarriage after receiving the 1st instalment?

You remain eligible for the remaining instalments in a future pregnancy; you do not lose the amount already paid.

Is this available for every child I have?

No — only for the first living child, plus a one-time additional payment if the second child is a girl.

Do I need a bank account in my own name?

Yes, the payment is made via Direct Benefit Transfer into the mother's own bank/post office account.
