FAQs
Can I use this loan to expand my existing business?
No — Stand-Up India is strictly for new, first-time (greenfield) enterprises. For expansion, consider Mudra loans or standard SME business loans instead.
Do I need collateral?
The scheme encourages convergence with the Credit Guarantee Fund for collateral-free lending, but exact collateral requirements can vary by bank — confirm with your chosen branch.
Can a general-category woman apply?
Yes — the scheme reserves one loan per bank branch for a woman entrepreneur, and a separate one for an SC/ST entrepreneur; women of any caste category can apply under the women's category.
